- Forehead width — across the widest part of your forehead.
- Cheekbone width — across the top of your cheekbones, below the outer eye corners.
- Jaw width — from the angle of one jaw to the other, below the ears.
- Face length — from the centre of your hairline down to the bottom of your chin.

How to read your face shape
The short answer: compare four measurements — forehead, cheekbones, jaw and face length. If the length is much greater than the width, you lean oval or oblong. If the three widths are similar and the length is close to the width, you lean round or square. A wide forehead with a narrow jaw is heart, and prominent cheekbones with a narrow forehead and jaw is diamond.

How do I measure my face shape?
With a soft tape measure and a mirror, measure four points in the same unit: forehead width, cheekbone width, jaw width, and face length from hairline to chin. Compare them to see which shape you are closest to.
What face shape is most common?
Oval is the most common and the most versatile, since its balanced proportions suit nearly every frame shape. If you are unsure between two shapes, pick the one closest to your jawline.
Does face shape really matter for glasses?
It is a useful starting point. The rule is contrast: angular frames flatter round, soft faces, and rounded frames flatter square, angular faces. But fit and personal style matter just as much, so treat the shape as a guide.
What if I am between two shapes?
Most faces are a mix. Choose the shape closest to your jawline, or run the calculator alongside the Frame Finder and look for frame shapes recommended by both.
